Veterans For Healing (VFH) is a Veteran-focused organization that helps former Canadian Armed Forces members and RCMP navigate Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) benefits, access evidence-informed medical cannabis, and connect with trauma-informed treatment and wellness services. Our model is built around navigation, continuity of care, and long-term support.
Our services are available to:
- Canadian Armed Forces Veterans
- RCMP Veterans
- Serving members preparing for release
- Veterans’ spouses or family members (in specific programs)

VAC Navigation & Disability Benefits 
VAC Navigation is hands-on support to help Veterans understand, apply for, and manage Veterans Affairs Canada Disability Benefits, including:
- Disability Benefit applications (Pain & Suffering Compensation / 923)
- Medical and mental health claims
- Appeals and reassessments
Ongoing VAC correspondence and documentation support
No organization can guarantee VAC approval. However, VFH significantly improves outcomes by:
- Ensuring applications are complete and medically supported
- Helping Veterans clearly connect conditions to service
- Coordinating clinical documentation properly
- Reducing common errors that lead to delays or denials
Yes. We regularly assist Veterans with:
- Reconsiderations, reviews and appeals
- Strengthening medical evidence
- Clarifying service relationships
- Updating or expanding previous claims
Timelines vary. Some applications take a few months, while others can take longer depending on:
- Complexity of the condition
- Availability of medical records/documentation
- VAC processing volumes
We help manage expectations and keep Veterans informed throughout the process.
Medical Cannabis Through VFH 
VFH coordinates medical cannabis assessments through authorized healthcare practitioners. We also provide education, guidance, and product access aligned with VAC policies.
Yes, VAC may reimburse medical cannabis for eligible Veterans when:
- It is medically authorized
- Prescribed for VAC-recognized conditions
- Within VAC reimbursement limits
VAC currently reimburses cannabis up to a set dollar amount per gram and daily gram limit. These rates are determined by the Government of Canada and may change over time.
VFH stays current on policy updates and helps Veterans navigate changes.
Yes. Our team provides education-based guidance, not sales pressure. We help Veterans understand:
- Flower vs. extracts
- THC vs. CBD ratios
- Daytime vs. nighttime use
- Titration and harm-reduction principles
Treatment Options & Clinical Care 
VFH connects Veterans to a broad range of services, including:
- Psychology and psychiatry
- Registered Counselling Therapists (RCTs)
- Social work and case management
- Group therapy and peer-supported programs
- Allied health services (where applicable)
Yes. All VFH-aligned providers are required to work within trauma-informed, Veteran-centred frameworks and maintain appropriate licensure and professional standing.
VFH offers structured group therapy facilitated by licensed clinicians. These groups:
- Are clinically led (not peer-only)
- Follow defined therapeutic goals
- Are documented and VAC-compliant where applicable
- Focus on shared experience, emotional processing, and coping skills
- Group Therapy is clinically facilitated and documented as a treatment service.
- Peer Support is informal, non-clinical, and community-based.
They are separate offerings with different purposes and structures.
VFH Products 
VFH Products include curated wellness offerings developed or selected in partnership with trusted industry leaders. These products are designed to support Veteran health and well-being and reflect the same standards as our clinical services.
Some products may support wellness or symptom management, but they are not a replacement for medical care unless prescribed by a qualified provider.
We offer products to:
- Improve access to high-quality, Veteran-appropriate options
- Reduce confusion in a crowded wellness market
Align products with clinical education and guidance

Yes. Veterans For Healing complies with all applicable provincial and federal privacy laws, including PHIPA and PIPEDA. Your information is never shared without appropriate consent.
